Free math test software for Windows/DOS. Download from this page, no registration needed.
Quick Start Instructions:
No "installation" required, no changes made to your Windows settings. Just download a math test (very small -- less than 100 kBytes), store it in a directory of your choice and run it. To quit a test early use Ctrl-C. Your results get stored in a file called "records.txt" in whatever directory you run it from. If there already is a file "records.txt" it will add test results onto the end.

Basic arithmetic operations
WHOLE NUMBERS ONLY -- ADDITION/SUBTRACTION TEST:
addsub.exe click to download
  • No frills -- achievement is the game in this plain old arithmetic drill!
  • replaces asmath1.exe. corrects name bug and formats printing a bit differently.
NATURAL NUMBERS ONLY -- MULTIPLICATION/DIVISION TEST:
muldiv.exe click to download
  • This test is certified free of Negative Numbers.
INTEGERS, POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE -- ADDITION/SUBTRACTION TEST:
addsubn.exe download here
  • Serious practice with adding/subtracting negative numbers!
  • Hint: if the negatives get complicated for you, perhaps try using really small numbers (like 2 or 3 maybe) as addend limits and build up from there.
INTEGERS, POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE -- MULTIPLICATION/DIVISION TEST:
muldivn.exe download here
  • Where two negatives always make a positive

ADD & SUBTRACT FRACTIONS AND MIXED NUMBERS:
Comment from Alan: On this day, November 18, 2003,
I hereby declare the following fraction addition and subtraction
tests as potentially painful to the brain. I suggest you proceed
with a very positive attitude and maybe even paper
and pencil to do these.   Hmmm. Maybe not...
what's the sport in using paper and pencil?
:-)
Small Print Promise: I will have homework helps for these tests, and simpler versions of them "soon."
